Core concepts
- Phase A → E From initial range formation (A) through testing (B-C), breakout (D), and trend continuation (E).
- Events PS, SC, AR, ST, Spring or UTAD, Test, LPS / LPSY, SOS / SOW, JAC.
- Creek & Ice The upper and lower boundaries of the trading range.
- P&F Projection Point-and-Figure target derived from the range width — your structural TP.
- Spring / UTAD A specific pattern: brief pierce of the range, then rejection within 1-3 candles.
When to use Wyckoff on XAU/USD
Best on HTF (4H, 1D) when XAU is consolidating in a visible trading range of at least 20 candles. In pure trend moves (HH+HL or LH+LL) Wyckoff returns NEUTRAL — that's a feature, not a bug.
Wyckoff traditionally uses volume. On spot XAU/USD volume is broker-dependent and unreliable — our analysis reads Wyckoff events from price action alone (wick rejections, range expansion, failure-to-break).
